Portrait of a photographer with a broken dishwasher- sigh!

Actually is hasn’t been too bad. It slowed me down enough to look out the window over the sink. My husband and I had more time to talk while he dried and I washed. And it made me appreciate the new dishwasher when it arrived today! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

A reminder that broken things can move us out of the familiar and when looked at through grateful eyes bring joy. Thank you Diana!

We forget the things we miss UNTIL we slow down!! Dishes are NOT my favorite thing to do but I have WONDERFUL memories with my grandmothers, godmother, aunts, and mom while doing the dishes together. It knits us together!!!

I have memories of doing dishes with a cousin that stayed with us allot. Cindy and I would sing while we did dishes. She loved “I’ve been working on the railroad.” I think of her every time I hear that song.
