The view from my kitchen window-Photo Challenge: Local

This to me is local, my home.  Looking across the street to the local park and enjoying the beauty of the autumn color.

(Extra)ordinary- the world in a rain drop

(2)In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “(Extra)ordinary.”

Autumn in the midwest often means rainy days. Making the raindrop quite ordinary to our world. But look closely- not so ordinary and perhaps even extraorindary.

Gift #779: The golden light on the water at Standing Bear Lake

“…. seeing our Father in everything makes life one long thanksgiving and gives a rest of heart, and, more than that, a gayety of spirit, that is unspeakable.”
Hannah Whitall Smith

Jesus’s word from John 10:10
….”I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

To be a Marigold

To be a Marigold

Last, weekend, I was doing some autumn cleanup in my gardens
The Zinnias were faded and dying, so out they came
The Iris- long gone
Then I came to my patch of Marigolds
A blaze of yellow, blooming like crazy
They bloom in the scorching heat, they bloom in the Autumn chill.
Gorgeous blazing yellow blossoms, in the sun, and in the rain.
I decided, that if I were a flower, I would want to be a Marigold.
Blooming no matter what.
