for my Alaska son,
his handsome face and the stubble on his chin
reminding me of the man he has become
the gift he is in my life
Many thanks to my God
Sometimes, the best thing to do
in any given situation
is to curl up in a comfy chair
with your favorite quilt
and take a nap.
(Many thanks to Misty, the grand puppy for sitting for these photos.)
a smile and a twinkle in the eyes- loved beyond words
How many years have I looked upon the back of his head? Quite a few, to say the least.
Some of the details may have changed with the passing of time, but the feelings in my heart never change.
Well, actually the feelings do change. They grow stronger.
Sometimes that is all you can do- hang on by a thread.
But thank you God for that thread!
“Give thanks in ALL circumstances….” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
“…. seeing our Father in everything makes life one long thanksgiving and gives a rest of heart, and, more than that, a gayety of spirit, that is unspeakable.”
Hannah Whitall Smith
Jesus’s word from John 10:10
….”I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Some gifts are harder to see.
Harder to find.
Hidden from view.
Perhaps that makes them all the more precious.
