for my Alaska son,
his handsome face and the stubble on his chin
reminding me of the man he has become
the gift he is in my life
Many thanks to my God

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Muse.”
Flowers are definitely my muse. But as much as I love their exquisite beauty, I am finding more and more that I am drawn to those small imperfections. The falling petals, the brown spots, the chew marks where some insect has had a feast. The windblown or rain beaten blooms shimmer for me. But still they are exquisitely beautiful.
And so it is with us humans, when we are windblown, rain beaten or chewed on by life, the exquisite beauty is there to shine forth. If only we will stop and see.
